The Transporter

Prompt: Tell us about a sensation — a taste, a smell, a piece of music — that transports you back to childhood.

The scent of cherry blossoms.

Do you remember the Japanese Cherry Blossom body lotion from Bath & Body Works? Well middle school me sure does and now whenever I catch a whiff of cherry blossoms I’m immediately sent back to the good, the bad, and the cringe of seventh grade existence.

After thinking about it though, I don’t think I’ve been around anything cherry blossom related since high school…but I am tempted to take a trip to the mall and see if it still has the same effect.

P.S. I remembered my trash bags are cherry blossom scented and decided to pop open a fresh one…it didn’t jog anything.

P.P.S. After looking up the lotion it apparently has Japanese cherry blossom, Asian pear and mimosa petals. So maybe it’s just the lotion itself that does the trick?
